Established in 1985, since the very beginning POLANE has focused on construction in the public and private sectors on a national scale.

Buoyed by the amazing business sense and entrepreneurial spirit of its president, Jean-Pierre Morin – who is always seeking new challenges – throughout the years POLANE has explored new areas and met new challenges that have allowed the company to acquire a wide range of expertise that is as varied as it is complementary.

Today, POLANE stands out as a result of its versatility and its project portfolio, which runs the gamut of underground piping and chair lift installation to public lighting and excavation projects, not to mention of course heavy equipment rentals and petroleum facility installation.

Background

1985	:	POLANE is established.

1985	:	POLANE obtains a general contractor’s licence in the field of civil engineering.

1985	:	POLANE lands its first contracts with Hydro-Québec.

1987	:	POLANE adds new expertise: cement cutting and sidewalk cutting and construction.

1989	:	POLANE adds new expertise: rock excavation using hydraulic drills.

1989	:	POLANE lands it first contract with the telecommunications firm CANTEL (Rogers).

1992	:	POLANE acquires new equipment and offers heavy equipment and machinery rentals (with operators).

1992	:	POLANE Excavation is established.

1993	:	POLANE adds new expertise: transporting heavy equipment with no territorial restrictions.

1997	:	POLANE adds new expertise: the construction of sewer and aqueduct systems.

1997	:	POLANE obtains certification for international quality standard ISO 9002.

1998	:	POLANE obtains its general contractor’s licence for commercial construction and renovation – public class I (4050).

1999	:	POLANE adds new expertise: the installation of mechanical chair lifts for ski centres.

2000	:	POLANE adds new expertise: the installation and maintenance of petroleum equipment.

2001	:	POLANE obtains an electricity licence.
